I see the sun
Peaking tentatively over roof tops.
Oh joy, it is back!
The winter gloom lifts fleetingly.
Life will continue.
Deep under the earth
A small furry thing
Stirs gently in its sleep,
Feeling a low thrum;
Then sleeps deeper for a while,
Happy to know
Spring will come again.
